DONE!

Thanks to all who supported me this year for this series of concerts! This concert was many things: a self-experiment, a challenge to grow, an invitation back to the enjoyment of live performance, an homage to great standard classical repertoire, and a gift to friends, family, and students.

I hope to make similar performances a regular part of my life in coming years — hopefully a mix of solo piano and chamber music! So stay tuned!

by the time we began a nationwide lockdown…

…I was in the same situation as many of my musician colleagues. I am primarily a gigging musician, so my work life was suddenly non-existent. I found enough alternative work to pay my bills, and by Fall 2020, my music work had picked up again.

Being at home so much more during the spring and summer months meant more time and flexibility to explore hobbies and other things I would not normally make time for. And so it was within this environment that I found myself listening to and learning solo piano repertoire for a change.

Rather than focusing on virtual substitutes for musical collaboration, I decided the collaborative work could be put on hold, as most things were, and I turned my attention to practicing piano music seriously for the first time in some years.

This solo piano program is the result of that turning of my attention to solo piano repertoire as well as a concentrated effort to grow, challenge myself, and share music with others.
